Well after the hectic week previously we thought we would put our feet up for a few days and have a bit of a holiday. Actually, that was never the intention and so we carried on working in front of, and behind, the scenes on various projects. First up was attending the 2017-18 fixture launch event at Valley Parade. We met with James Mason and he was really keen to know more about our upcoming football match against Idle FC, so much so that we are hoping to get James and Edin Rahic along for cameo appearances. Even if James and Edin can’t make it, there’s loads of City related stars coming to play or support the match including Ellis Hudson and Dan Pybus, so get yourselves down to what is going to be a great day out. The game is at Dixons Allerton Academy and kick off is at 2pm. We’ve then got a barbecue and race night at The Villager, Wilsden from 4pm.
Whilst we were at Valley Parade we met up with Ian and Adam from the Community Foundation and we discussed some additional tie-ups between ourselves and the FITC team. In fact, we’ve got yet another exciting announcement to release in the very near future so watch this space!
Throughout the week we met with a number of business owners and spoke about the Wilsden Bantams family-ethos and our plans for the future, and we’re delighted to announce and introduce you to our sponsors for this season. It’s great to have each and every one of our sponsors on board, particularly as this allows us to raise the profile of the Supporters Club to their customers whilst at the same time giving our sponsors representation at our events and on our website. Great to have you on board!
On Saturday 24th June we ran a stall at the Shipley Indoor Market Craft Fair & Fun Day. This was great publicity for Wilsden Bantams and we were delighted at the number of people who came down to say hello, find out more about the Club, or join up as members. A special mention to Tegan and Ellis who won a couple of prizes whilst down there.
We held a prize raffle and ran the draw on facebook live. Thank you to everybody who entered, however there could only be 3 winners… The names of the raffle winners are: 1) Gary Bexley, 2) Nick Kitchen, 3) Mike McNally – we will be contacting you to arrange to drop your prizes off in the next few days.
Thank you to Ryan for inviting us to this event, we would love to come back to the next one.
Did anything else go on? Oh of course, our Wilsden Bantams Open Evening took place at The Villager on Sunday night. Thank you to everyone who attended this event to find out about what we are doing, and a special welcome to those of you who came and signed up as new members aswell. You gave us some good ideas for us to think about and so we’ll be looking to see if we can set these up.
So we fast forward to another week, which culminates with the big football match, barbecue and race night on Saturday. The weather forecast is looking pretty healthy, so please come down and make this a brilliant occasion. Remember it’s just £2 to watch the game, for the younger ones there’s going to be a bouncy castle and Billy Bantam will also be there.
And then, it might just be time for a quick rest..
